I graduated from Scott City High School in 2003. Then ventured off to Manhattan Kansas to attend Kansas State University. I attended Kansas State University until 2007 when I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education Social Studies.
I currently hold two degrees my first would be my Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education Social Studies from Kansas State University. Then in 2010 I obtained my Masters in Special Education from Ft. Hays University. In addition to my degrees I am licensed to teach in the following area: 5-12 Social Studies, 5-8 English Language Arts, 5-8 Math, PreK-12 Adaptive Special Education, and K-12 Functional Special Education.
Burlington Middle School
Flinthills High School
Butler County Special Education Cooperative
Waverly High School
As far as family goes that is what brought me to Coffey County. In 2010 I married Ryan Dawson and moved to Waverly, Kansas. Recently we had our first child, Owen, who has brought all sorts of new adventures to our lives in his first year and half of life. We have three dogs who were our first loves. Candi and Cassie are the two Welsh Corgis. They are Candi, 12 years old, and Cassie who is 10 years old. Then we have Cara who is a two year old Great Pyrenees.
When I am not teaching, keeping up with my son Owen, or relaxing I show Quarter Horses in my spare time. My main focus is on Halter Horses but I will also compete in other areas at times from showmanship, horsemanship, ranch riding, and western pleasure.
